Making Bad Good With Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers #MiMashup

My littles were so excited when we got a box of Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers in the mail.  They could tell that Iron Man and Captain America were different from their other toys.  Omie studied the back of the boxes but Duke immediately knew that he could interchange parts and accessories and create his own super hero or villain.  Duke started talking about how he can make "Iron America" and if we bought other mashers he can make all kinds of heroes!  I was excited to see his excitement about creating new characters... we're always encouraging creativity and the mashers make it easy for kids to use their imaginations.  Duke had his own thoughts:
Duke: Hey mom, so if I give Dr. Doom Iron Man's legs that makes Dr. Doom half super hero!
Me: Basically!
Duke:  That's awesome, I always wanted to make the bad guys good!

I like to think my sons are my best mashups - my husband is Mexican and I'm just a big ol' mix of Filipino, Chamorro, Spanish, German and Chinese.  We use our cultures & life experiences and take on the World!

Yesterday I watched a trailer for today's official trailer and it was not enough.  I am a huge Iron Man fan.  He is one of my favorite Super Heroes and this trailer doesn't let down.  Who is your favorite Super Hero?  Will you be watching Iron Man 3?

My Year-Round Super Hero #HasbroHalloween

Duke got into Super Heroes when he was about 2 years old... He loved wearing capes over his shirts and we indulged in his imagination.  He wore a cape with us when we went shopping, to art shows and museums, he wore that cape everywhere!  Kids would stare and point out to their parents that he was wearing a cape.  Adults would high-five him and say he's a lucky kid.   Duke is 6 now and he still loves Super Heroes, maybe he has a soft spot of curiosity for Villains too.  We still have his cape, it's way too small for him but I plan on bringing it out at his Wedding rehearsal dinner.  Let's be honest, he's going to love Super Heroes well into adulthood and that's why we invest in fun, high-quality role-play masks and accessories from Hasbro.

We received The Amazing Spider-Man Hero FX Mask which features light up eyes and electronic sound effects & movie phrases.  This mask is cool.  Duke has been eyeing it in the toy aisle for awhile now.  I'm tempted to try it on myself.  We also received The Amazing Spider-Man Hero FX Glove which senses motion and responds with web shooting sound effects and The Amazing Spider-Man Spider Sense Chest Light which attaches easy to any t-shirt and features electronic lights and sound effects - both are very cool.

Dinner & A Movie Night #MarvelAvengersWMT

My husband Chris took our 6 year old son Duke to see The Avengers when it came out in May and they could not stop talking about what a great movie it is.  This went on for weeks!  When I heard that The Avengers was finally being released on DVD this past Tuesday, I was excited because I could finally see it for myself!  The minute Duke found out we were going to go on an adventure at Walmart and use The Avengers Augmented Reality app - he was excited!!!  Sadly, we could not get it to work.  I blame connection issues.  I was sad but Duke was even sadder.  We still made it an adventure.  I encouraged Duke to find all The Avengers sections for me and he was good at it!  His favorite section?  You guessed it - Toys.    

Our first stop in Walmart was to pick out a MarketSide pizza for our dinner and a movie night.  My favorite character is Iron Man but none of us wanted cheese so we opted for a Hulk-sized Supreme pizza.  I could not believe how big the MarketSide pizzas are and the price is amazing!  We could not wait to get home!

MarketSide pizza before I baked it - Everything was so fresh!!! I was drooling before I put it in the oven!

Pizza is done and Hulk is going in!  The pizza was delicious!  I want to buy a cheese pizza and add my own ingredients next time!

Duke's guys are checking out The Avengers Exclusive Blu-Ray/DVD/Novel Combo Pack at Walmart

Duke is mesmerized!  He has watched it non-stop since Tuesday!
