My 7 Year Old Googles Me

Duke gets online on his iPod.

He used to only watch toy reviews and music videos on YouTube.  And then he was playing Draw Something with me, his dad and auntie.  He would take pictures and make videos.  He learned to email me from his dad's account.  All so innocent...

...and then he started opening Instagram and trying to find out if I was his Elf on the Shelf!  So nosy!  At first I thought it was funny and cute until he started calling me out on my pictures!

Duke: Mom, You are the Elf!
Me: No, I'm not
Duke: How do you have that picture when I woke up before you?
Me: I just do
Duke: Yeah cause you took it after you pretended to be the Elf!
Me: Duke I am not the Elf!
Duke: (laughs) Yeah right Mom!

My future detective, I swear!  And then I found out he googled me!  Okay not me but my blog!  I asked him why he googled my blog and he said he wanted to read it.  SO FUNNY!

I don't have anything to hide... do you?

'Tis The Season To Gift Exchange Part II

You know that saying, "the right place at the right time" - thats how I kinda felt that this gift exchange happened.  I was checking out my Instagram when I saw bellandpistol arranging a book & ornament swap for something like 20 followers.  I added my email and made the cut!  Korey (bellandpistol) emailed us asking for the little one's name, address, age and titles of 3 books on their wish list.    The limit for the whole gift exchange was $20 minimum, $25 max!  Done deal!  I emailed our info with these titles:   Dragons Love Tacos, My Abuelita and Hello, Rock

And we had to include info on our kid, sweet!  The cool thing is that the little we were sending to wouldn't be the one we would be receiving from.  I totally forgot to take a picture of what we gave before I wrapped!  I impressed myself with that ribbon cause I suck at creativity!  Looks great on Pinterest but not when I try haha

We received from ohdearmama and it is such a lovely, lovely package!  Duke loved everything about it!

He really adores these drawings with information on all the kids!  They are so cute too!  We learned a lot about their family!

And this book is funny!  I read it to him and Omieoso and they loved it!

Thank you ohdearmama family XOXO

Day Out with Net10 Wireless!

Summer has been super busy for us and some days, we like to take it easy and just hang out.  Hanging out usually consists of getting yummy food, thrifting and hanging out at our local Barnes & Noble.  This particular Saturday, we took a family vote and Sonic won because it was hot out.  Everyone wanted Sonic's vanilla cone.  I made sure I checked in with my Net10 LG Optimus Net on Foursquare and was ready to take pictures for Instagram.  I love the quality of photos with the LG Optimus Net!

Hubby got a banana shake mixed with Oreos.  I suggested the idea because it's his favorite flavor from Scoops in LA.  He said it wasn't as good as Scoops but it comes in at a close second.  My vanilla cone?  Delicious.  Exactly what I was craving.  And you know what's awesome?  (And I know most bloggers will agree) My Husband and kids know that I have to take pictures before they dive in.  Funny but chalk it up to blogger problem #29.

After we ate, we hit our second favorite thrift store.  On the way there, I checked my email, Twitter and peeked at Facebook.  Saw some interesting things at the store but didn't go crazy.  We found a vintage Adidas jacket for the baby and I picked up a framed art print.  Not the clown in my collage.

To end our day, Chris and I grabbed some magazines and let Duke hang out in the Kids' section of Barnes & Noble.  The LG Optimus Net is a step up from my current Android phone - I love the photo quality, ease of taking video and uploading it, quick load time on all my favorite apps: Facebook, Foursquare, Plume (great Twitter app for Droids) and Instagram.  I'm considering leaving my current service and switching to Net10.  You just can't beat $50 Unlimited Text, Calls, Data and No Contract or Credit Checks!
