Never Work A Day In Your Life #SomosAmway

Disclosure:  This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and Amway.  All thoughts are my own.

The truth is, I have been blogging for years.  I just never knew I could make a business of it until I attended a blogger conference in 2011.  I went blindly, I really didn't know what I was getting into and I still didn't when I got home.  I heard what all those speakers were saying, I talked to all those brands... but it isn't as easy as it looks.  Blogging is hard work but it's so rewarding because it's all yours.  The first time I registered a domain was in 1996, you could only do it at one place back then and it was $70 per year.  In 2013, you can register a domain for a dollar.  Having worked since I was 14 years old to holding down my favorite job for 18 years, I never imagined being my own boss.  Never.  But here I am today, celebrating a little over a year of making my first dollar and being so happy and so free.

My favorite quote that keeps me inspired daily:

"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." -Confucius

I'm totally not working in that picture at The Hobbit event.  Best thing about being my own boss is obviously picking and choosing what I want to do.  Two realizations about working for yourself that also relates to life in general:  You learn to say no and you go for what you are worth.  I didn't learn that from working all those years and I certainly didn't learn it when I was in college.  If blogging isn't for you, Amway makes it easy to own your own business!

I really love this post!! I literally just decided that this blogging is a business a few months ago. I still don't have goals set, I don't have an "end game" but I know that I am enjoying what I am doing and learning as I go! That whole figuring out what you are worth thing is so difficult! Or not really the figuring it out part but the actually believing it part!

I need to focus more on making what I do and believe in a business. This would change so much in my life...I want to take care of everyone I love...that is a big deal to me.

Love that quote. I am not sure where the road may lead me but having my own business has always been a goal for me... I feel it would be very empowering.
