I honestly think each new kid gets smarter. I mean all my kids are smart but Omie... he's a different one. Always chasing after his big brothers (said hi at 9 weeks old, started crawling at 4 months and walking at 11 months) and doing things that make me say, but he's only a year old!!!! Since he is our last baby, we really wanted to enjoy him being a baby but he had other plans - he's ready to conquer the World! As a kid who was bored in school and wanted to be challenged, high quality early childhood education and childcare are important to us. I can honestly say there is a difference when someone just babysits your child vs. programs that provide the best education. We parents need to give our children the tools to succeed. I'm totally putting the emphasis on they are our future.
Learning Moments happen everyday with your children, these are the instances when learning happens away from the chalkboard - routine activities can provide educational opportunities for infants and young children. One of my favorite learning moments has been teaching Omie that if he takes a book, dvd or toy from the shelves he has to put it back. It is amazing to see his face light up when I cheer him on and say, "good job!" and "thank you!" - promote language and social skills with the easiest tasks. This is why I want to continue his learning and the first step is attending the KinderCare Open House.
KinderCare is holding Open House events at all of their learning centers across the country on August 13th, 2013. Families are welcome to visit during the Open House to see what quality early childhood education looks like and get to know their local KinderCare teachers and staff. Families can visit KinderCare.com to locate their neighborhood center. This link can also be used to schedule a tour at a different time.
The KinderCare August 13th Open House theme is “Learning Moments”. KinderCare focuses on capturing these moments every day and making every moment a teachable one.
