#YouDontHaveToBe Ridiculous To Be Green!

Confession!  I have about 20 reusable bags and I always forget to use 'em.
Oh, the horror!

For some, the pressure to be environmentally conscious even outweighs the pressure to have a great relationship, or have children who are successful in school or extracurricular activities.  Along with feeling the pressure, women also feel it's trendy to be environmentally conscious.  Fifty-one percent of respondents said "green is the new black."  And when they do commit a green faux pas, throwing recyclables into the regular trash container is when they feel the most judgment.

I am scared to admit --- I'm not that green.  And its not that I don't want to be, I feel that its some sort of ultra-lifestyle that I'm not ready to commit to.  I make a genuine effort but I always feel pressured to do more.  My biggest issue is that it is fairly expensive to live a green life.  Before you publicly shame me, ridicule me or even attempt to lynch me, let's compare notes on being "green"!  I'm willing to bet that your carbon footprint is probably bigger than mine!  We only have one tv, one gaming system, one car, no iPad and OMG! I haven't bought a new purse in months...

59% of women agree, "I introduce environmentally friendly practices only when it is practical given my lifestyle."

You Don't Have to Be Ridiculous to be Green!!!  Green is for everyone!  This is how we're green:

I had a great laugh at this Green Housewives video --- it pokes fun at the eco-fanatics you know!

You Don't Have to Be Ridiculous to be Green!!!  Green is for everyone!  This is how we're green:
  • We recycle cans & bottles
  • We make sure everything is thrown in a trash can and not on the ground
  • We donate and buy from thrift stores

LOL! Funny indeed..I think my biggest hurdle to being green is convenience. When given a choice of something green vs. not and they are equally accessible, I have no problem choosing the greener option.

That was very funny I can almost watch a series on that! My biggest hurdle is getting my family to contribute. I find myself doing all the work it gets exhausting and sometimes i just give up

I am pretty good about being green except that we live in an apartment complex and they don't recycle anything. Which means we throw away alot of stuff that could have been recycled like tin cans and stuff like that. That's the only draw back to living somewhere where they don't have that service. :(

But I try to reuse things as much as possible and love to go thrift shopping :)

I know this sounds selfish but it's time. I want to recycle everything but it's hard to make sure everything is washed, put in the proper bin etc. If I'm running out the door and I need to grab a drink I try to fill a resusable cup but sometimes I find myself grabbing a plastic bottle. I am trying to get better at all of this though!

My biggest hurdle to being green is making it all fit in my recycling bin. :) I have a huge garbage sized bin and its always full to overflowing.

My biggest hurdle is consistency. Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't.
