Day 1 Dinner.
Pampas Brazilian Grille inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.
I will almost always choose steak over chicken. When Pampas invited us to have dinner - I said YES without hesitation because when I hear brazilian, I think of churrascaria which is basically a steakhouse. A house of steaks. I AM THERE. Do not be shy, parade those meats out for me with pride!
Sidenote: My husband and sons are chicken eaters so I never get to go to churrascarias. I was very excited because not only was this a girls trip to indulge and release stress but getting to eat my favorite thing in the World was definitely a treat.
Here's how it works: You pay a fixed price and the meats keep coming until you say you are done. The servers make their rounds with skewers and knives. In addition to the meat, there is usually a side bar with cold and hot items. At Pampas, their menu changes daily and with the seasons. We came in on a good night because I thought the variety and quality of the sides was excellent. There was nothing heavy and cold foods cold, hot foods hot. I thought all the meats were very tasty. Definitely different from the "bbq" I'm used to having. My favorite is Picanha Nobre - traditional Brazilian cut of top sirloin seasoned with sea salt and olive oil. It was fantastic. The atmosphere was very live - I saw birthday celebrations, a company holiday party and a wedding reception. After hours, the staff puts the tables away and the place is a nightclub!
Take it from me:
- Lunch ($20) is cheaper than dinner ($43). The difference is 8 meats are offered for lunch, 13 for dinner.
- Do a search for coupons
- You control the portion size/area of the cut - let your server know, I tried about 12 of the meats but they were small sizes.
- Drink water. Those sugary carbonated drinks will fill up your tummy!
- You have to try the fried bananas and baked pao de queijo (brazilian cheese bread)
Some of the meats from the "Meat Rodizio"
Marla and Julie ready to get at it!
Pao de queijo!
Fried bananas!
Marla's vegetable rodizio! She really loved the grilled mushrooms. We all loved the grilled pineapple!
Chris loved the lamb!
We dined in one of the wine rooms - it was very spiffy.
This was the best flan I've had in my whole life. It was creamy and light and light and creamy. Things I want my desserts to be like. Not heavy and sugary. I would've fought Chris for this but I was too full.
These were all good. Cheesecake isn't pictured but that baby was delish too.
