I was honored when I got the invite to The Outlets at Orange first blogger event last week. I'm extremely proud of being an Orange County resident and love showing my support for anything OC. I've been working with local businesses recently and in the coming weeks, excited to show you what our part of Southern California has to offer. We are not just south of LA or north of San Diego - we stand on our own!
The weather was absolutely perfect for the Fall TweetUp event. We had been experiencing ugly 90s temps and last Thursday, it was around 70s at 6pm. I saw old friends and met new ones from SoCal Lady Bloggers, ate yummy pasta from Lascari's (we've been fans), sampled empanadas and skewers from Cafe Tu Tu Tango (now new fans), tried a pumpkin smash smoothie from Jamba Juice and oogled the table of candies from Sweets from Heaven but that was just the beginning of an amazing night.
We were in for a treat - the inside scoop on the latest fashion trends.
Style Stop I - Last Call by Neiman Marcus: We had to look for 10 Fall 2012 Trends. I fell in love with a Furla bag. The first 5 received a $50 gift card and their choice of prizes. Everyone went for the gorgeous Jimmy Choo clutch. I missed it by one person. I swooned over Jaime of Polkadots on Parade's clutch! I chose a pair of blinged out Juicy Couture earrings! Fall 2012 Trends: The Crayon Box - Just add color (lots of it!) from head to toe. Into The Blue - From navy to baby, we're singing the blues. Green With Envy - Such an arresting hue! Go green! Fancy Pants - Parade your colored, printed, and textured pants. Fabulous Fur - Whether faux or no, fur is really chic now. Horse Play - Equestrian and military themes command our unbridled attention. Jackets Required - The cover story of the season. Finishing Touches - Brooches and totes and slippers, oh my! Leather Report - Be cool in any leather, from jackets to dresses to leggings. Cozy Chic - Knits you need: cable, crochet, fisherman, and hand-spun!
Style Stop II - Nordstrom Rack: We were treated to a fashion show, modeled by staffers of Orange Rack! Layers, sequins and velour are in for the Fall!
Style Stop III - Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th: We had to style a Black Label outfit. (Black Label is Saks' private label brand). This is where I fell in love with animal print coats, heels and yet another, Furla bag.
Style Stop IV - Fashion Wing Retailers DKNY, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic: We chose what would be the hottest trend for Fall.
There were coffee and cookies from Corner Bakery Cafe at the closing reception and prizes, lots of prizes! I was hoping for a Doubletree stay but so happy with my Off Broadway Shoes giftcards! I will be treating myself to a pair of flats!
I am really passionate about The Outlets at Orange because... are you ready for it? My secret - My Husband shops for most of my Christmas, Birthday and Anniversary gifts at OAO! The Outlets at Orange is my go-to shopping destination for clothes, shoes and bags for myself and my family. Even our 6 year old is enjoying shopping at OAO - check out his picture below of the outfit he picked out from H&M and Old Navy! Beanie, hoodie and jeans from that night! The shoes are actually from a previous Nordstrom Rack shopping trip.
